History

In 2004, after a national request for proposals, the Industry Ministry and the INPI chose Strasbourg, the European capital, to host a new training facility called: Institut Européen Entreprise et Propriété Intellectuelle (European Enterprise and Intellectual Property Institute, IEEPI).

This structure has been charged with setting up training initiatives dedicated to intellectual property for economic decision-makers.

The IEEPI also conducts study and research in the field of intellectual property. It is developing close cooperation with the European Patent Office (EPO).

The IEEPI is particularly noted for its high level of skills and the European consensus of its employees and representatives, in order to offer high-level services, in line with the growing importance of innovation in European competitiveness.

The location of the Strasbourg Institute alongside the CEIPI (International Industrial Property Study Centre) will exploit the complementary nature of these two organisations and their collaboration to create in Strasbourg an excellence cluster that is recognised throughout Europe in the field of intellectual property.

This cluster will be given form in the near future by the combining of the two entities on the same geographic site in Strasbourg.
